Conversation with someone with Wernicke’s aphasia can often be confusing and frustrating without training. Many professionals aren’t aware of how to treat it, so families are left without hope or guidance. In this video, Amy demonstrates what she’s learned to better understand her husband’s speech, but also how to make communication much easier. As the intensive treatment helps his understanding and speech, she will need to do this less and less. There is a way to have a conversation with someone with Wernicke’s aphasia with some training, and this type of aphasia can get much better. There is hope and a way forward!
